POWER, CULTURE AND ATTACHMENT INJURIES: EFT WITH AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN COUPLE STRUGGLING TO FIND THEIR WAY BACK TO EACH OTHER

Presented by Zoya Simakhodskaya, ph.d.

When: Friday, November 30, 2018 10:30AM-12:30PM

Where: National Opera Center, 330 7th Ave, 7th Fl, New York

All EFT therapists at times feel stuck with a couple in stage 2: we made a lot of progress, things are de-escalated, withdrawer is beginning to re-engage and yet we cannot complete the withdrawer re-engagement process.  In this seminar, Zoya will briefly discuss the attachment injury repair process and show a video conducting a consultation with a couple that was stuck.  We will also explore how culture and different ways of coping with societal pressures led to years of power struggles and contributed to attachment injuries.
