The New York Center of Emotionally Focused Therapy introduces video Fridays in Litchfield. This is a great opportunity to see Susan Johnson in action during live sessions with couples on a DVD. Please be advised that online registrations are not refundable.

"There's been nothing like seeing Sue Johnson in action for deepening my training in EFT. I look forward to these video Sundays for the opportunity to see EFT at it's best and to discuss the material in a warm and inclusive setting with a supervisor and colleagues. The videos have captured different types of couples at various stages in treatment, providing a real range of clinical examples to learn from." Caroline Kahn, Ph.D.

"Over the past year, I attended many EFT Video Sundays and it always came at the perfect time: just when I was low on my EFT quotient and needed a boost. The afternoon helped to cement and deepen my skills and generated an excitement to do it better.  The supervisors running the meetings were right on the ball, as they stopped to highlight significant points along the way.  They also made it safe for discussion to take place and for people to express various points of view. "  Merle Brenner, LCSW

Shaping Secure Connection Part 1 - Stage 1 with Sue Johnson

Stage 1 of EFT helps partners come together and contain the negative dance that constantly triggers their attachment vulnerabilities and leaves them in emotional starvation. They then have a secure base to stand and learn to engage at a deeper level in Stage II, where they reach for each other and shape their relationship into a secure bond - a safe haven that supports and nourished both of them.

In these videos, you will learn:

  • How to constantly create safety across stages in EFT
  • How the EFT therapist conducts a Stage I and Stage II (Pursuer Softening) session and uses EFT interventions
  • How to pinpoint and work to neutralize negative cycles in distressed couples
