NYCEFT Quarterly Seminar

The Practice of Empathy in EFT

What happens when, in the moment, we don't feel empathetic, either as a therapist or a partner?  We are at a stuck point.  In this seminar Stephen McDonnell, LCSW will demonstrate how we can practice empathy in EFT treatment.  Video segments will demonstrate how by staying close, present, curious, and sometimes by repairing we can be empathetic as therapists and help the partner respond with empathy as well. Debi Scimeca-Diaz, LMFT will be the discussant.

Presenter

Stephen has experience working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer couples; couples with partners recovering from trauma; couples with partners recovering from addictions, including sexual addiction.
